Tiling almost done

The tiling is almost done I have 4 more pieces of tile left to put up 2 of the edge pieces at the tub surround and 2 corner pieces on the back splash and all of it also needs to be grouted.

We used 3"x6" white tile for the wall and some brushed pewter looking accent pieces to create the border

Batroom Floor

We have a working toilet and sink again in the hall bath.
With a few days off for the thanksgiving weekend I had time to get the floor in
We decided on a 2"X2" mosaic ceramic tile for the floor.

Leif wanted to be in the picture to show that he was a part of the whole floor laying too.
Even though thinset and small children is a bad combination it worked out pretty good.


For the threshold we used a slate brick accent. We had some concerns about the white grout and the dark slate but it turned out pretty good
I did some experimenting with tape and tiled to try some different solutions for the sink back splash and this is the patter we decided that we will do.
I will set this when I do the tub surround.
We also replaced the old faucet for the sink so it will match the shower mixer we chose.

I have not finished cleaning out the small space between the tub and the tile so I can silicone this area.
There are still plenty of details to finish and clean up, we haven't decided on trim yet so we still have decisions to make!
The plan now is to Finnish the tiling next weekend but with all the little details that needs to be done it will probably be a coupple of more weeks before it is all done.

Bathroom update

I have been able to some more work. actually allot more that what these pictures show these pictures shows the progress 11/03/07. All the walls are now closed in with drywall and backer board so right now I am working on finishing the drywall and preparing it for paint, I will post more updates later.

Bathroom Project

It all started with a chase for a foul smell.
After accidentally stepping through the ceiling and then cutting 5 5" holes in he bath tub looking for what ever had crawled in and died in our bath.
I found a dead mouse in the attic.

So now with a ruined bathroom it was time to do a remodel.

Here is after I had gutted the room down to the studs, got some drywall back up and had installed the new shower valve.By now I have got the bath tub in and secured and I will start with putting up the backer board and finish the drywall so I can start the tiling. There will be more pictures of the progress

My first try of baking transylvanian farm bread.

I didn't look the way i thought it would but it tasted good, even the kids liked it.
It turned out to be giant loaf of bread about 4lbs (1900g)
